GED in Connecticut

The state of Connecticut has welcomed the new computer-based GED® exam for its high school equivalency (HSE) testing program.

The state offers many facilities (Adult Learning Centers) where GED preparation classes are organized to help you become totally prepared to take the Connecticut GED exam with confidence at an official GED testing site. Online GED testing is NOT possible!

Reduced passing score

In early 2016, the GED passing score was adjusted downwards by five points to 145 for each of the four subtests because studies had shown that it was set too high when the latest edition (the 2014 Series) was introduced. You can read the full article here. The four tests are in social studies, math, science, and literacy. Don’t forget to check our article about signing up for your GED exam with the My GED website.

A better future

The GED examination gives you the opportunity to demonstrate that you possess the knowledge and skills at the level of a graduating high school student. When you have earned your GED certificate, you will have much better chances to get a decently paying job, improve your career, get into college, and work towards a brighter future. But of course, first you need to pass the GED test, and that’s why preparation is so important.
